In accordance with the article included in the contract signed with FISU: Following the Attribution Contract Art.9, the second parties undertake jointly and severally to guarantee FISU, its administrators and staff members, immunity from and for any and all damages resulting from any neglect or offence - however slight this neglect or offence may be - related to the organisation and good progress of the 25th Winter Universiade 2011, and against any prejudice sustained by FISU or by a third party, according to the principle of legal and contractual liability, even in cases of absolute necessity and force majeure.
The Organising Committee shall contract, at its cost, an appropriate general liability insurance policy acceptable to FISU for the amount of ten million us dollars (10,000,000 USD) covering the risks of any liability or damages arising out of the organisation of the Universiade and any act of the OC, or its mandatories and employees, from its constitution to its dissolution (Art. 4.2). The insurance will cover all claims for loss, injury or damage to goods and individuals arising from the holding of the Universiade.
The insurance coverage of our organization is as follows:
General Liability Insurance
According to FISU Regulations for the Winter Universiade, the Organizing Committee for Erzurum 25th Winter Universiade has signed a special liability insurance contract with company Marsh
At the same time, participating countries and regions must apply for corresponding insurance covering their trip and competition activities, which is neither the responsibility of EWUOC nor FISU.
Health Insurance
Each delegation must have an appropriate medical insurance coverage for any medical expenses, which is not the responsibility of Erzurum OC. Each traveler must have health insurance coverage for any medical expenses, or he/she can request the health institution of his/her own country to provide the most appropriate insurance procedures in Turkey.
Erzurum OC will provide all accredited personnel with first aid service free of charge. The designated hospitals and infirmaries of WU 2011 will provide general and expert health care upon payment. During the first aid service, the medicines that can be provided by Erzurum OC are free of charge. All other medicines brought in local public pharmacies are at their own expense of individuals concerned even if they are accredited personnel.

Customs Clearence Procedures
• Traveling with Rifles & Ammunition
All rifles and ammunition must be checked at the first entry to Turkey (Istanbul and Ankara). All delegations will check their rifles and ammunition upon arrival at the Airport and pass the ordinary custom procedure as usual. After approval of Custom Police the rifle and ammunition will be sent to Erzurum by required procedure. In Erzurum the transportation will be safely organized by OC Security Department accompanying by one responsible person from the delegation. Upon arrival, the rifles and ammunition will be stowed in storage room inside the Athletes’ Village. The ammunition will stay only one night in Athlete’s village and next day will be transferred to the Kandili stadium where will be locked. Only Coaches or HOD can take the ammunition for training and competition. If biathlon team has no coach responsible personnel, the team must select one athlete and inform EWUOC in advance who will take this ammunition for athletes.
Specific forms will be spread out in advance to all delegations before entering Turkey.
In order to provide information for the participants and the officials in the 25th Winter Universiade and to make sure that the arrangements about the rifles and ammunition are understood better, a “Guide for Rifles and Ammunition” has been prepared for the branch of Biathlon.
