04.02.2011-ERZURUM MEDIA- Alper Uçar and Alisa Agafonova who won the silver medal in Figure Skating Ice Dance Free Dance stated that they want be world champions. The pair and President of Ice Skating Federation Fahrettin Kandemir came together at Madrassa with Twin Minarets. Uçar stated that they present the medal as a gift to Turkey and expressed their happiness to be second. Uçar said “ We saw how the citizens of Erzurum supported us and we rewarded them with the silver medal. Our next aim is to become successful in World and European Championships. In the past we could not pass the elaminations. We believe that we will compete in World Championship. Firstly, a Turkish judge will take part in the referee panel and then we will rise rapidly. Although 25th WU is a small step for us, it is a huge step for Turkey. The only thing that has change is the position of Turkey in winter games. Many statesmen called and appriciated us.”
President of Ice Skating Federation Fahrettin Kandemir stated that the success of the pair made them happy and added that they will work hard to train the champions of the future.
