28.01.2011 ERZURUM 2011 MEDIA- First Turkish athlete in Figure Skating will get on the rink with his partner in 2011 winter games. The couple with only one and half years of working together, prepared for the games with company of Natalia Duova and Oleg Voyko for five months.
The couple will compete in both long and short programmes, and will try to be in the first five among 15 couples. Turkish National athlete Uçar stated that “I am very excited to represent my country and it effects me positively. Figure skating boasts the highest number of tickets sold, and it is an honour for us. Competing here encourges me to win a medal.”
OUR RIVALS STEER CLEAR OF US
Uçar who pointed out that the athletes who will compete in the couples category need five years to warm into to each other stated; “My partner and I have been training for one and half years only. However, we have gained ground. Our training process was extremely successful. Our rivals and us know each other and they are afraid of us. Uçar highlighted that athletes should train at high altituded added; “ Our trainer Oleg Voyko prepared a new programme for us. Everything runs smoothly. We trust each other.”
