26.01.2011 - ERZURUM 2011 MEDIA- Orhan Gazi Civil and Ahmet Üstündağ who are the National Team athletes that continue their trainings at Kandilli Biathon venues stated that; “These investments, efforts and supports deserve medals. In the past we even could not dream about medals. But now, we are so closed to medals that we lose the chance of the winning medal with seconds. Right now, there is not any reason that intervene us to win medals. We have venues, changes and supports. We have everything. World will watch us in the competitions.”
We will win the medal
The athletes who expressed that they will start their preparations for the Olimpics after the WU that is hosted in our homeland stated that; “ We always kept our target higher. Our country will win medals thanks to experiences we gained and the venues we have. These games have changed the history of Turkish Winter Sports. Next is World Championships in Russia. We will do our best to get better results.
Turkish Biathon National Team trainer Yuriv Ivanos Mitev stated that “ In recent years, they have improved their biathlons thus we are close to win a medal.” Turkish Biathon National Team trainer Yuriv Ivanov Mitev who competed in Olympics that was held in Bulgaria two times and was a trainer for two times in the olympics is really optimistic about the national team.
Bulgarian trainer Yuriv who trusts the national team stated that “ Our rivals are really strong but it is not a reason not to win a medal. We have experienced athletes who are able to keep up with world standards. Our rivals are the countries with whom we even could not compete in the same track.
No more excuses..
Yuriv Ivanov Mitev who said that they had troubles about the venues in the past stated that; “ In the past, we went to different countries to make a camp. But now we have the best venues of the world. Now, one medal is not enough for us, we want to win a number of medals. Because we train young athletes in these faicilities. It means that we will have more athletes. We will train our athletes better by organising development camps. Because this sport is one of the most difficult sports in the world. It requires effort. Here in after we will paticipate in the WU.”
