25.01.2011-ERZURUM 2011 MEDIA- Athletes continues to come to Erzurum for the 25th WU. In the flag ceremony at the Athletes Village four countries’ national teams’ flags were raised to the flagpole and there was a one minute standing silence for the people who lost their lives in the terrorist attack im Russia.
A “Welcome Ceremony” was organized for the athletes from Russia, Slovenia, Belarus and Czech Republic, who settled at the Athletes Village after they completed their accredation procedures.
In the ceremony to which 2011 General Coordinator Bekir Korkmaz, Yanya Pasinlioğlu who is responsible from 2011 Universiad Athletes Village, atheletes from four different countries and head of the delegations attended, the flags of the countries were raised to the flagpole.
The Russian Flag was half-raised to flagpole and there was a one minute standing silence for the people who lost their lives because of the bloody terrorist attack in the Moscow airport named Domodedovo.
2011 Generel Coordinator Bekir Korkmaz stated that he condemns the bloody terrorist attack in Russia and said that every kind of terrorist attack is a crime that is convicted against to humankind and expressed his sorrow for the people who lost their lives in the terrorist attack in Russia.
