ERZURUM 2011 MEDIA-25- Entry into the city of the athletes and delegations of the countries involved in the organization continues just a short time before the start of WU games. The first place visited by the athletes and delegations arriving at Erzurum via Ankara and Istanbul with normal and additional flights is the Accreditation Center formed in the campus of Ataturk University. After the procedures in the Accreditation Center, the athletes are passing to lodging locations reserved for them in the Athletes Village.
UP TO NOW 293 ATHLETES FROM 23 COUNTRIES HAVE ARRIVED
The most crowded group arriving so far at the city was the Japanese group consisting of 73 athletes and delegation members. A welcoming ceremony for the Japanese group which is the first group at the same time arriving at the city on January 21 had been arranged with the participation of Bekir Korkmaz, General Coordinator for Erzurum 2011 WU. Japanese group is followed by Slovakian group consisting of 54 individuals and Canadian group consisting of 51 individuals. Since January 21, 293 athletes and delegation members from 23 countries including Turkey, Hungary, USA, Korea, Russia, Ukraine, Germany, Kazakhstan, Norway and France have entered into the city until evening of yesterday. Arrival of the athletes and delegation members participating in the organization into Erzurum will continue on different days with different groups until the last day for the games.
THE RUSSIANS WILL BE THE MOST CROWDED GROUP OF THE DAY
The most crowded group to arrive at Erzurum today will be the Russian group. The Russian group consisting of 130 persons who will arrive at Erzurum by two separate flights at 14.00 and 19.00 will be followed by Korean group with 73 individuals. A giant team formed by the employees of Coordination Office and volunteers are working 24 hours a day for prevention of any mishaps which may be faced by the athletes and delegation members who will enter into the city until January 27 on which the games will be launched.
