23.01.2011-ERZURUM 2011 MEDIA-The State Minister Faruk Nafız Özak had a breakfast with the economy departments’ managers of national newspapers and the members of board of managements of journalists' union of Turkey. Governor of Erzurum Sebahattin Öztürk, Atatürk University’s Rector Prof. Dr. Hikmet Koçak, Provinical Director of Youth and Sports Fatih Çıntımar and President of the Turkish Ski Federation Özer Ayık attended at the breakfast.
After the breakfast Özak visited the Turkish Telekom Jumping Towers and Konaklı Ski Center .
NO PROBLEM AT THE VENUE
State Minister Özak, stated that the delegations of the countries which will participate in the games have arrived to Erzurum. Özak, expressed that “The entries of athletes from various countries and their accreditation procedure have begun. The Athletes Village is now open only to athletes. Catering services and accomodation have begun. There are no problems at our venues.” Özak, ‘’There has been no snow for a month. However, we prepared our tracks with our artificial snow making systems and by transporting snow .There wont be any problem during the events. The city is ready, and so we are.”
THE OPENING SESSION OF WINTER SPORTS
The State Minister Özak stated that 25th Universiade Winter Sports is going to launch officially on January 27th.
The State Minister highlighted that the opening of the WU games will be outstanding “Our opening will be held on Thursday January 27 at 19:30 p.m. President Gül, Speaker of the Grand National Assebly of Turkey Mehmet Ali Şahin, and PM Erdoğan will be attending the opening ceremony of the games.We monitored cultural activities and scenario on openning and closing in details. We are going to held an astonishing presentation. There is going to be a 55 minutes of formal side to the event. The raising of the FISU flag, public speeches and there is going to be a cultural side to the event which will last for 61 minutes.”
