20.01.2011-ERZURUM 2011 MEDIA-Opening of the athletes village will be held on Friday January 21 at 10:30.78 million Tl was spent for the living areas.This is the only athletes village where 2890 people are going to accomodate at the same place.
ACCOMODATION OF 11 BLOCKS
Athletes village consists of 11 blocks. Village which is stuated at Atatürk University Campus 4 blocks in the games village was built from scratch. 7 of the existing blocks have been renovated in accordance with the requirement of the FISU.Athletes Village Responsible Yahya Pasinlioğlu, stated that they have have considered every detail in order for the athletes and delegations comfort.’’There are tv,internet, strategic games including meeting and massage rooms.Also there is a dining hall which one can taste world cuisine at the same time apart from that shopping center, a weapons depot and wax, gym, security, medical will take place at the administrative building.’’
FIRST ACCESS TO THE VILLAGE IS FROM TURKISH AND RUSSIAN ATHLETES
First access to the village will be from Turkish and Russian athletes on January 22nd.Last ones to access are Holland,Spain and Sweden on February 2nd.Athletes and member of delegations who will access trough the village will be accredited then will take part in ‘Welcome ‘ ceremony.Delegations raising their country flags will then access to the blocks which is allocated for them.
At the blocks rooms are designed as 3 for athletes,double bedroom for office workers and single for members of delegation.’’
