25.10.2010-Held under the chairmanship of Governor Sebahattin Öztürk, security preparations of 2011 has been discussed in detail.
Meeting was attended by staff of Police Department and the Gendarmerie Command.At the meeting every stage of security and kind of duties were discussed.
Governor Öztürk,stated that in order to operate the organisation without living any problem security is a supporting service.It’s also important for countries dignity.’’Because Turkey will host many other organisations in the future.These games are also important for Turkey and Erzurum’s reputation.’’
After the opening speech of Governor Sebahattin Öztürk,Deputy Governor Mehmet Gök made a presentation related to the topic.
Mehmet Gök, who is also the Security Commitee Chair stated, security services held within the organisation will be under the police accountability by the Police Directorate, the Provincial Gendarmerie Command area of responsibility will be provided by gendarmerie.Especially inside the venues and in the competition areas special security staff will be working.
MANY SECURITY STAFF WILL BE ON DUTY
During the games 2 thousand 677 security staff will be working from Erzurum,other 573 staff will be demanded from other provinces. 550 of those will be police,534 will be gendarmerie,966 will be special security and 200 will consist of security volunteers.
Security staff will be recieve courses in various fields until the start of the games such as Helicopter Routing, GPS use, Crime Scene Investigation, measures to be taken against freezing and walking techniques in snow, Public Relations.
At the meeting also,Accreditation Committee Chair Neşe Şahin gave detailed information about the accreditation to Security Committee members.
In the meantime Governor Sebahattin Öztürk,said that so far 54 country have applied and 51 country reported to attend in the games.Also 2 thousand 780 athletes will be participating in the games.( this figure does not include the technical team).The most participate will be with 265 athletes from Russia.Turkey will be second country following Russia with 235 athlete participating in the games.
