08.06.2010-Secretary General of the Eastern Marmara Development Agency Erkan Ayan, together with development experts came to Erzurum in order to visit the facilities of 2011. He has made an evaluation of the ' World University Winter Games. Ayan, 2011 Winter Universiade is not only important for Erzurum its extremely important for Turkey, he said.
2011 Universiade in Erzurum in the direction of regional development of preparatory work has created an important synergy Ayan stated, "In Erzurum important work is being carried out under 2011. 2011 Universiade Coordination, is very aware about the subject and also very enthusiastic. This organisation is an national project and it’s also very important for regional development. As an Eastern Marmara Development Agency we will try hard to promote Erzurum in national and international level.With this purpose, we held a serious study and seminars with the development specialists from other regions in Erzurum.But what’s more important is that this organisation should be owned by the local people living in Erzurum.With the 2011 Erzurum, Turkey will have a very serious opportunity to promote it self in January. In this sense, the local government has an important role’’ he said.
