Travel

All Delegations will be responsible for the travel and luggage expenses from their origin to Istanbul or Ankara. The expenses from Istanbul (both Sabiha Gökçen and Atatürk Airports or Ankara to Erzurum will be covered by EWUOC, as Delegations will be considered as the guests of EWUOC from the entry to Turkey. In order for this service to be offered completely and perfectly, all Delegations are required to send the N 16 forms including the flight information to EWUOC no later than December 27th, 2010. However in order to satisfy all Delegations, EWUOC needs travel information in advance, the last date for this pre-information is November 15/11/2010. EWUOC will not be responsible for inconveniences and expense that might result from delays caused by flight details not provided in due course.

At the first destination in Istanbul or Ankara, Delegations will be taken to special waiting lounges to wait for the flight hours to Erzurum accompanied by EWUOC officials and volunteers, and the maximum waiting period will be 6 hours.

Delegations will be transferred to Erzurum directly without staying overnight in Istanbul or Ankara. Delegations arrive late in the evening will be transferred and accommodated free of charge to a hotel designated by the EWUOC. Flight to Erzurum will be organized the next day.

There will be special welcome desks in Istanbul and Ankara airports, which will assist each delegation to transfer to their relevant charter flight. The support team will be composed only by professionals. The 2011 WU Erzurum OC would recommend all delegations to preferably fly to Ankara as the internal transfer from the international to the domestic terminal is less difficult.

By Airway

Customs services are available at Erzurum Airport, there will be no problems for Delegations arriving via private aircraft to fly directly to Erzurum.

By Highway

If from neighbouring countries via highway, Delegations should pre-notify the EWUOC about the entry point to Turkey will be assisted by EWUOC for Customs Procedures.

Transportation of the Local People

In addition the services for the Athletes, extra services for the spectators will be provided by the Erzurum Metropolitan Municipality public transportation system in accordance with the Schedule of the competitions. With the electronic toll collection system applied in the city, second rides within 40 minutes (e.g. transferds) are free of charge. There are adequate numbers of public transportation vehicles in the city. No problems will be encountered in the transportation of public. Besides these, transfer of public from the parking lots near the venues to the venues will be realised by buses rented by the Transportation Committee.
