Winter Universiade Media Center (UMC)
Press centers have been established to serve press and media members during the 25th Winter Universiade. These are: the Main Press Center (MPC), International Broadcasting Center (IBC), Athletes’ Village Press Office and press centers to meet the requirements of the members of press.

Main Press Center (MPC)
Main Press Center (MPC) established on a 2.000 square meter closed area on the second floor of the Erzurum Cemal Gursel Stadium is organized so that 60 media members can work simultaneously. In addition to the FISU and EWUOC offices, there are security, medical services, transportation and meeting services units and souvenir and rate card desks. Besides these, other services and facilities (lockers, ATM, news boxes, telecommunication, games information inquiry, transportation, resting, lounge areas and other similar support services) to meet the minimum requirements suggested by FISU are available.

Work hours of the Main Press Center will be 09.00 a.m. – 06.00 p.m. between January 22nd and 23rd, 2011. During the games, it will provide uninterrupted service for 24 hours.

The Broadcast Department will give video and editorial services to the members of the printed and visual media. Within the scope of this service, it will form a pool of open media materials comprising ready photographs and video images that can be used by 60 users simultaneously. The members of the printed or visual media have access to this pool by means of computers at the MPC. In order to assist the users of this system at the service of the media members, technical support teams will provide service at the MPC for 24 hours.
Computers with broadband media internet lines, kiosks and closed circuit information screens will be kept ready for the media members.

International Broadcasting Center (IBC)
The International Broadcasting Center in a closed area of 2000 square meters on the first floor of the Cemal Gursel Stadium. The International Broadcasting Center (IBC) will provide national and international broadcasting services during the Erzurum 2011 Winter Universiade. The IBC will be open on January 1st, 2011. Broadcast and broadcast communication of all the venues and the tracks where the competitions will be held will be provided for the IBC by fiber optic network. A double backup system is for the radio link and fiber ring will avoid communication problems.

Three broadcast signals will be provided to the organization (delayed broadcast, live broadcast and on-site productions). The host broadcaster is TRT. General broadcasting and production of the signal as well as production materials of all activities sports or non-sports – will be realized by EWUOC Broadcasting Directorate and TRT.
The International Broadcasting Center will have a video automation system to be used in cooperation with the MPC, MCR, ten SD ENG with forty high definition ENG cameras (to be used in the Athletes’ Village, competition venues and award ceremonies), six final cut editing and two off-tube rooms, system rooms, technical team and equipment rooms, and two backup commentary positions (two at each venue).

DSNG teams and equipment with three cameras to be deployed in the Athletes’ Village will operate in connection with the IBC. DSNG will principally follow the social life in the Athletes’ Village.
FISU TV Office, Office of TRT – the Broadcasting Corporation, and EWU Operation Screening Center with the skills and technology of keeping track of all the games will be housed by the IBC as well. .

Besides these, for the requesting members of media, up-link for satellite transformation, ENG camera and staff, conversion of recorded shots to dvd, betacam, dvc, dvc pro, VHS, Mpeg File format, studios with 3 cameras for live or recorded shootings for hire will be available. In addition to these services, media members will be able to purchase the consumables they need at this center.
Telecommunication, games info inquiry, transportation, lounge areas and other support services will be available at the IBC.

Athletes’ Village Press Center
Athletes’ Village Press Center is in the mixed zone of the Athletes’ Village. Interview requests of the media members will be realized at this point by appointment. In the Athletes’ Village Press Center, computers with internet connection, closed circuit information monitors, kiosk, power lines compatible with the battery chargers of the cameras and universal plugs have been prepared in order for the media members to prepare their news.

Competition Venues Press Centers
Press rooms other than the MPC have been prepared for the members of printed and visual press in areas of sports (Kandilli - Konaklı – Kiremitliktepe – Palandoken - Curling Hall - Ice Hockey Halls - Ice Skating Halls) and non-sports (Media Hotel-Athletes’ Village).

In the press rooms, there are:
- computers with broadband internet connection to prepare news,
- closed circuit information displays,
- kiosks,
- power lines compatible with the battery chargers of the cameras and universal plugs.

In order for the printed and visual media members wishing to follow the competitions on a one-to-one basis to be deployed and work efficiently, Sports Venues Media Technical Infrastructure required by cameramen and photographers has been planned for special press spots with appropriate points of view.

Accreditation
• During the games, media accreditation will be carried out at the entrance of Main Press Center (MPC) at the Cemal Gursel Stadium. Media Accreditation Center will be open on January 22nd, 2011, on the same date with the Athletes’ Village.
• Media Accreditation Forms can be reached via the official site of the Organization – www.erzurum2011.gov.tr/accreditation/10057-media. Applications which began on August 27th, 2010 will end on November 27th, 2010.

Media accreditation procedure will proceed as follows:

- Arrival at the Accreditation Center,
- ID approval, application form, submission of passports to the accreditation official,
- Recording and approval of possible changes,
- Taking photographs (in case of unsuitable photographs),
- Printing the accreditation cards,
- Approval and signing by the FISU Media representatives,
- Approval by the accreditation official in charge, lamination and delivery of ID cards.

Accommodation
Hotels are arranged for the accommodation of the media members participating in the games. Volunteers and hotel officials will be at the information desks in order to provide assistance to the guests. Security staff will be on service inside and outside the hotel.

Transportation
Media members have the right to use the shuttle services running between the airport, media hotel and venues of opening and closing ceremonies, competitions and trainings. Additionally, vehicle rental service will be provided at the MPC for the members wishing to rent vehicles.

The distances of the MPC and the IBC to the sports and non-sports locations are as follows:

- Media Hotel: 12km
- FISU Hotel (Palan Hotel): 8,5km
- Athletes’ Village: 2,25km
- Airport: 9,25km
- City Bus Terminal: 1,5km
- Train Station: 3,5km
- Ice-skating Rink for 2000 people (Figure Skating and Short track): 5,5km
- Ice hockey rinks (3000 arena & 500 arena) – 0,5km
- Curling Rink: 5,8km
- Palandöken Ski Center (Snowboarding & Freestyle skiing): 10km
- Kiremitliktepe (Ski Jumping/ NC): 4km
- Kandilli Skiing Area (Biathlon/ Cross Country skiing/ NC): 43,5km
- Konaklı Ski Center (Alpine skiing): 21,5km

Food and Beverage Services
For the media members of the MPC and the IBC, between 06.00 a.m. and 11.00 p.m., tea, coffee and water services will be free of charge, however, snacks will have a fee.
